  • I carefully read the contribution guidelines and agree to them.
  • I checked if the issue/feature exists in the latest version.
  • I did use the incredible bugreport to markdown converter to paste bug reports.
Is it possible to implement custom url/playlist support as separate service tab?
There are many iptv playlists with HTTP Live Streaming and progressive http streams.
Also, NewPipe has audio player capabilities, so loading m3u with audio files will allow use it as local player or internet radio player. It also will allow to open links from other applications and use NewPipe as regular media player/downloader

VLC look like the perfect fit ATM.

This would be great, in combination with https://github.com/Ritiek/Spotify-Downloader
I was able to get an .m3u playlist with youtube links from there and it would be great to be able to import these playlists to NewPipe!

would be nice, since for some reason vlc stop playing video on lock screen (on both of my android) and i still can't find an app that could stream .mp4 media file (browser just download it) aside from vlc

@meanssaddles In VLC settings, Background/PiP mode should do the trick. Does it not work for you?

VLC still does not work for me for this purpose, only option I found is to use mpv in termux. Would be great if newpipe could do it.
