Apparently needed as Travis is running on Uuntu 20.04

Apparently needed as Travis is running on Uuntu 20.04

Fixes #847
As we're currently using this only via manual triggers, we want to be able to run in a different branch.
include .travis and some *txt files

- removed some obsolete info
- added info on DOCKER_BUILDKIT
