Permissions
Anonymous users can only search for and view signs that have been marked as Publish in dictionary in the Publication Status panel, through the Public View.
Users that have been assigned a login are a member of one of the five groups below, with increasing permissions from Guest to Publisher. In addition, users of the group Publisher receive the checkmark 'Admin' in their user profile. These 'maximum' permissions assigned to the group can be constrained by setting object permissions per dataset: only Editors with the Can change permission for a given dataset may actually edit signs and morphemes in that dataset. For other datasets, they can either have View permissions or no permission for access at all. In the user interface, selecting or deselecting datasets for which View permission has been granted will further constrain search domains.
Guests have the right to log into the system and see signs and morphemes from datasets they have View permissions for. Guests will not be able to export data to CSV or to refresh ECVs.
Researchers have additional rights to perform advanced searches and export data to CSV.
Editors in addition have editing access to the datasets for which the Can change object permission has been set, and can refresh the ECV for that dataset.
Dataset managers have the additional right to control which users have View and Change permissions for the dataset that is assigned to them. [Yet to be implemented, Feb 2018]
Publishers have the additional right to edit page content (like for the home page).
Administrator is not a group, but a checkbox that can be checked for individual users to obtain rights to enter the Django admin and create/edit/delete datasets, users, field values, and tags.
