Getting Started

Get CollaboWrite up and running on your local machine with these simple steps.

Prerequisites

Ensure you have the following prerequisites installed on your machine:

• Node.js (version 18 or higher)
• MongoDB (installed and running)

Installation

1. Clone the Repository:

   git clone https://github.com/ShashankGupta10/CollaboWrite.git
   cd CollaboWrite
   

2. Install Dependencies:

   cd ./client
   npm install
   
   cd ./server
   npm install
   

3. Add ENVIRONMENT variables

   • Create a .env file in the server directory of the project.
   • Add the following keys to the .env file
   • MONGO_DB_URI = your_mongodb_atlas_uri
   • PORT = backend_port
   • CLIENT_URL = frontend_url (for CORS)

4. Run the Application:

   • Execute the following command:

   cd ./client
   npm run dev
   
   cd ./server
   node app.js
