Aaron C., Cori O., Eileen K., Jay D.
- Please vote! Cori has posted a poll in Slack to help decide dates for the upcoming Virtual Sprint will be. The event will be in Central Timezone (so Chicago) and run from 9am CT to 4pm CT each day. Possibly Thursday, Feb 1 - Friday, Feb 2; or Tuesday, Feb 6 - Wednesday, Feb 7
- Cori will need a project description for the Sprint and what skills we're looking for.
- We will not need to prepare intro slides for the larger Sprint audience (as has sometimes been done at the beginning of IRL sprints) although we likely want to begin our project sessions with a slide deck intro.
- Once the new Sprint Slack channel is set up, we can post any prerequisite tasks or training we'd like our participants to do prior to the Sprint.
- Aaron will check in with the Deployment Best Practices group to see if their prep has overlap with our project prep, esp. as regards CCI, and report back.
- As usual, Cori will schedule a "know before you go" (KYBG) one-hour session, and ideally we will have 1 or more reps from our project there to answer questions.
- Do we need to schedule a Sprint planning meeting for January TBD? Or, communicate via Slack and email for volunteers to work on prep tasks, such as cleaning up / labelling issues list, and improving documentation for newcomers. (Example: "What issues are live & relevant?")
- Out of this fall's Chicago Sprint, several Snowfakery recipes were requested for DLRS project use, see DLRS Snowfakery requests
- Cori encourages us to collaborate with other OSC project teams, on their fake data needs, before/during/and after the Sprint. Especially any team that has a managed package or is working on managed package status (Memberships Made Better, SF Indicators, Summit Events, Grants Content Kit).
- Aaron is the Admin for the NPC and NPSP persistent orgs that Cori set up for us. (If previously reported this as EDU cloud, that was mistaken.)
- Aaron will set up one or more Sandboxes to be ready for the February Sprint. (No specific plans yet for using them, but just in case.)
- Here are instructions for creating NPC and EDU cloud scratch orgs, see Salesforce Nonprofit and Education Scratch Orgs
- We still need a more "official" repo and instructions for those scratch orgs, and likely that will come in the near future. (Do we even know who is working on this?)
- We briefly discussed the ongoing Documentation Overhaul. Aaron messaged: "Collaborative feedback and contributions to this branch are welcome." (see https://github.com/SFDO-Community-Sprints/DataGenerationToolkit/pull/145) (To provide feedback, you can make in-line comments using GitHub, or make a local branch from Aaron's branch, edit your copy, and send it back via another pull request.)
- For more about documentation updates needed or in progress, see Snowfakery Recipes doc issues here and DataGen Toolkit doc issues here.
- Next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, Feb-7 at 2PM ET / 11AM PT, and likewise every first Wednesday of the month. The February meeting COULD CHANGE based on where the upcoming Virtual Sprint lands on the calendar; if so, it will be announced in Slack and via email.
