Random Typeface Assortment is a collection of unfinished, experimental, and/or unpublished typefaces made by me. Most typefaces here are created during my time (self-)studying type design.
Despite most of the typefaces here being under SIL, I highly encourage NOT distributing these fonts anywhere. These are EXPERIMENTAL FONTS, not production-ready, full-fledged, commercial fonts. If you want to use them, do it at your own precaution.
Name & Creation date | Information |
---|---|
Grotesquerie (15/06/2021) | My very first typeface using FontForge! Also marks the proper beginning of my type design journey. Inspired by (or stolen from...) ABC Dinamo's Ginto. |
athels bold wip 2 (19/08/2021) | A failed revision of Grotesquerie. |
Contemporarity (19/09/2021) | Inspired by Google's Product Sans, I tried to make my own version. Didn't work out as much, and I really tried to turn it into a product, even though I still have little to no experience with type design. |
Connecto (16/10/2021) | A funky experiment. |
Athels (21/10/2021) | 'athels bold wip 2' but more complete and more personalised. |
Edgecutting Lite (12/11/2021) | My first attempt at geometric sans. Inspired by Tom Watkins & Ellen Luff's Aventa. Somehow this typeface got added to Dafont in 2024, ≈2 years after submission. |
hiContr (17/12/2021) | My first attempt at... high contrast typeface! |
Jygre (05/03/2022) | An experiment with letterforms, but is still ordinary enough for most uses. |
Utilik (20/03/2022) | A bitmap? typeface. |
Sundryent (30/04/2022) | Inspired by Alex Slobzheninov's Agrandir. |
Edgecutting (07/07/2022) | A revision of Edgecutting Lite. |
Antique Grotesk (26/07/2022) | An attempt at making those ugly af fonts. Not sure where I got inspired from, but it was inspired by something. |
Bolt Sans (24/09/2022) | A mechanical sans-serif. Made to test FontLab trial version. Fine tuned with FontForge later on. |
Alloquot (21/10/2022) | Condensed font, for testing weights and italic. |
Generic Grotesk (27/11/2022) | The undiscovered prequel to Overused Grotesk. It is exactly what it says on the name. |
Grotv (27/02/2023) | Meant to be a fully functional workhorse. I dropped it. |
Hebdomadal (07/01/2024) | An on-going project in 2024 called 'Weekly Type Design' on Instagram where I design a glyph every week for 52 weeks in total. |
