This commit is the reason why it's impossible to use newer cardano-configurations revisions:

The port and valency fields should be numerical. If you specified the correct topology file make sure that you correctly setup EnableP2P configuration flag. Error in $: key \"LocalRoots\" not found"}store_cardano-node_1 exited with code 1

Could this be fixed by updating cardano-node?
