How do I install Xhud?

Click here to be redirected to the "How To Install" page.

Where's my friends list?

It is disabled as a know cause of fps instability associated with friends coming online/offline. To reenable it, set the "Friends List" customization to "On" and save your customizations.

Where's the little version of my character on my screen?

It only shows when disguised as spy to reduce visual clutter. To enable it full time, set the "Player Model" customization to "On" and save your customizations.

My resolution is not an option, what do I do?

I would recommend rounding down to the nearest supported resolution with the same aspect ratio. This will have the side effect of making health bars display as slightly more full than they should, but it will hide that better than rounding up.
Alternatively, you can create your own resolution override using the template located along with the other resolution options, click here for instructions on how to do that. However, that can be a tedious process and may be be intimidating if you've never customized a HUD before.

Why don't you support more resolutions?

Xhud currently supports the 13 most popular resolutions, accounting for 96.52% of reporting Steam users. There is also a template with the equations to create your own custom resolution, if you would like. I had to draw the line somewhere, and this seemed like a very generous place to do so.

Why do my customizations reset when I restart the game?

Most likely because you did not press "Save Settings" after selecting them. There is a small chance that another mod in your custom folder is preventing the settings from being applied when the game runs, try removing everything from custom except Xhud.

Does/will Xhud support Linux and/or Mac?

No, it does not. It is not currently planned to support Linux or Mac, but it is not strictly off the table.
