This project is a simple shell created in C which has some basic functions of command prompt. The shell supports commands such as cd, pwd, echo, ls, and exit, and can be run on Linux and Unix operating systems.
To run the shell, follow these steps:
- Clone the repository or download the source code.
- Navigate to the directory containing the source code.
- Compile the source code using the command gcc shell.c -o shell.
- Run the shell using the command ./shell.
The shell will display a prompt indicating that it is ready to receive input. Type in a command and press Enter to execute it. To exit the shell, type exit and press Enter.
The shell supports the following commands:
- cd: Change the current working directory.
- pwd: Print the current working directory.
- ls: List the contents of the current directory.
- exit: Exit the shell.
