These options are available to you:
- Enter a search term in the search field and click on the relevant search result. To search specifically for groups only, enter the
&
sign as a prefix. - Search on the map.
- In the top bar click on your profile picture and then on
Groups
. Depending on how your network is configured, there may be aGroups
menu item or a group icon in the top bar.
On the group page select Join
.
Depending on the group type and the settings of the group (see below) you can:
- join the group directly
- join the group only after your membership has been activated by the group owner
- join only on invitation of the group owner
To write a post, click on the plus sign on the group page. To comment on a post in a group, you must be a member of that group. For everything else, see Posts and comments.

By creating a group you become the owner of the group.
- Click on your profile picture in the title bar and select
Groups
. - Click on the
+
button. - Enter the group name.
- Select the visibility of the group. The properties of the types are explained above.
- Optional: Enter the destination of the group.
- Enter a description of the group. Explanations about the text editor can be found here.
- Select the action radius of the group.
- Optional: Enter the location of the group. It will be shown on the map too.
- Select the topics of the group.
- Click on
Create new group
.
- Click on your profile picture in the title bar and select the menu item

. - Click on the three dots next to the group and select
Settings
. - Edit the settings.
- Click on

Members
in the group settings. - At
Add User
, enter the unique username (@username) and click the magnifying glass.
- Click on
Members
in the group settings. - Select another user role:
- was invited to the group
- becomes a simple member after his approval
- can post and comment
Currently, this role is identical to the simple member's role. In the future, administrators should be able to e.g. invite members and activate pending members. #5386
- can change the settings of the group

- can change the user role of the members (exceptions: own role and role of owners)
- can remove members
- Click on
Members
in the group settings. - Next to the member click on
Remove
