GVExport is a module for webtrees that displays your family tree in a handy scrollable window, you can click on a person or family to go to that page in webtrees. Most genealogy software can generate a tree of ancestors, or descendants. GVExport can generate a printable tree of everyone related to a starting person. Or persons, as you can add multiple individuals to be included, and display all their relatives.

You can generate a download of the tree in JPEG, PNG, SVG, PDF, or the Graphviz file format DOT.

If you have access to install software on the server, you should consider installing Graphviz for more reliable file exports.

GVExport has many configurable options. You can include birth or death dates and places, choose from multiple layouts (some of which support showing photos for individuals on the tree), choose to include cousins, siblings, spouses, or any link. Set a number of generations to include (ancestors or descendants).

Getting started

Before you start, install GVExport into your webtrees website.

If you've installed it already, see How to use GVExport.
