Description

NCO confirmed that the ecf/versions folder and files aren't needed anymore (email from December 22nd, 2022 while discussing GFSv16.3.5 implementation):

Right, the /ecf/versions aren't used. All version numbers should only be pulled from /versions/run.ver

Can now remove the ecf/versions folder and its versions files. Will only use versions/run.ver and versions/build.ver (for ops and dev) and other versions/*.ver files for dev.

Requirements

Current functionality related to version file sourcing and usage not broken.

Acceptance Criteria (Definition of Done)

System runs without ecf/versions

To do:

  • Remove ecf/versions and version files within from dev/gfs.v16
  • Remove ecf/versions and version files within from develop
