Consider using osmcal.org for events

There is a relatively new service https://osmcal.org/. The source code is open, of course (see https://github.com/thomersch/openstreetmap-calendar).

In my opinion, it makes perfect sense to discuss addition of Mapathon event type (see thomersch/openstreetmap-calendar#10) and use a filtered list of events from osmcal.org.

There are a few reasons why I think it's a good idea:

• By the history of Missing Maps events commits (https://github.com/MissingMaps/events/commits/master), I would guess that event addition is not well designed.
• Nor the database of events (https://github.com/MissingMaps/events/commits/master).
• You can easily subscribe calendar in iCal format (and RSS) of your location (or all locations).
• Get rid of Google Form for event registration.
• There could be more, these just came to my mind immediately.

pushing events to the MM website is improved some with #430
if @Jorieke or @rachblevine knows someone who wants to look into the above recommendation? it might better fit the needs of the MM team.
