[Bug]: Type error: undefined is not a function error during swap, when trying to edit the gas fee

Describe the bug

while trying to execute a swap, the following error occurred while trying to change edit the gas fee:

TypeError: undefined is not a function

The MetaMask app got stuck after this, the "Try again" button was unresponsive and I had to close and open the app again, to regain functionality.

Expected behavior

No error

1. click on Swaps button
2. select a token
3. select amount
4. click on estimated gas fee in order to edit the current gas fees
5. notice error show up
