How to disable function parameter suggestion on ( key?

How do I turn off automatically showing function information the moment I hit (? I've turned off every setting I can find- the settings shown are disabled in all four locations (user/workspace, main/lua) and I cranked every delay up to 10000ms but I still get a popup immediately after typing a (. (I even tried disabling the main Lua › Completion option, didn't make a difference)

This feature is controled by editor.parameterHints.enabled and Lua.signatureHelp.enable
