Searching for new remote content never works first time

Issue Summary

If I search for a new remote community on my instance, I always have to go forwards and backwards a page in the search results, for it to appear. And sometimes it when I click the link it opens the page but almost immediately goes back to the front-page with an error.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Go on an instance and search for a non-local community that hasn't been fetched before.
