The variable rand_option is used to determine whether messages should be randomly selected or chosen in a sequential manner. If the user opts for random selection (when rand_option == "1"), the program generates a random index to fetch a message from a text file. Alternatively, if the user prefers sequential selection, the program retrieves messages based on an incremental index.
