JabRef version 5.2 on Linux portable

running bin/JabRef fails with

Error: could not find libjava.so
Error: Could not find Java SE Runtime Environment.

However, running lib/runtime/bin/JabRef works

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. go to installation directory
  2. bin/JabRef

In which folder did you extract the zip file? Do you have it extracted to a folder called "bin"? e..g home/myusnerame/bin/Jabref..?

Thanks. i confirm that moving it to another directory works.

I would suggest putting that warning into the installation instructions.

is this a Linux only issue?

I haven't yet tested it under Windows, but could be also the case. Just add it as general hint.
