Open a cmd, start JabRef.bat
JabRef 5.1 5.1.197


Error occurred during initialization of boot layer
java.lang.LayerInstantiationException: Package images in both module org.jabref.merged.module and module org.jabref

This error indicates a split package issue.
I think this could be related to the testImplementation "org.hamcrest:hamcrest-library:2.2"
I noticed in Eclipse, that there is also and older version provided v.1.3 and I guess it's coming from #6232
