you can install PythonProtocolGateway on the same machine as homeassistant. that'll get you down to one device. RaspberryPi is a bit weak for HA, but could be good enough. a used usff is a good alternative.

currently PythonProtocolGateway interfaces with homeassistant only via MQTT. You can access that data from other devices as well via mqtt; ie, esp32 + relay to control your A/C or so. * i wonder if usb relays are a thing :P *

the batteries and inverter communicate on different ports, so it shouldn't be effected.
with a minimal setup your inverter would forward the SOC info from your batteries.

start with v1.1.8, it'll be released soon; just going through some stability tests.
