Install Using the Web Installer
Installation using the web installer is the easiest and safest way of getting FreeTouchDeck up and running quick. There are no downloads, you don't have to set up the Arduino IDE, you do no have to download libraries and you do not need to change any config files.
Go to https://dustinwatts.github.io/install-freetouchdeck/ using Chrome, Edge, or Opera as a webbrowser. Once there you are greeted with the following page:
Next, select the board you are installing the firmware for (ESP32 DevKitC) if you are using an ESP32 with a screen module with or without the combiner board. Or select the ESP32 TouchDown if you are using that. Now hit "Connect". A menu pops up telling your that install.freetouchdeck.com want to connect to a port.
If you now plug in your board, a new port shows up. This is the board you need to select. Click "Connect" again.
Now your are given the option to install FreeTouchDeck. Click "Install" to begin the installation.
Installation may take a while and sometimes seems to hang, but this is only the progress bar that is hanging. The installation is still going. After some time the installer is done and a message pops up that it is finished.
FreeTouchDeck is now installed on your device! By default FreeTouchDeck starts an Access Point you connect to before you go to the configurator. You can set you WiFi credentials there so next time FreeTouchDeck will connect to your WiFi network. Learn more about the configurator from this Wiki: The Configurator
