Work materials for the course on R programming for sociologists in Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (with Russian comments)

This course was prepared out of university curriculum for a group of students who want to achieve R programming skills and use it in analysis of social and sociological information.

The course is realized in the Russian language - that is why all the comments and homework are written in Russian (If you don't see Russian symbols, reopen script wit "UTF-8" encoding)

Target audience

Students without any background in R but who have basic skills in statistics and knowledge in sociological research methods.
Who are willing to study besides the curriculum in free time 😉

Main blocks:

  1. Introduction to R programming
  2. Introduction to statistical analysis in R
  3. Conducting of group research

Lessons

  1. Intro to R (vectors, matrices)
  2. Lists, data frames + homework
    2.1. Answers on homework
  3. Export from .sav and .csv format (+ 2 files with data), basic statistics and intro to dplyr (select() function)
