Almost two years since the last release of the applauncher-icons project, there's a new one ready, and some major changes have occurred. If you'd like, you can view the comparison between v2.1 and v3.0, but it's really big and almost all the files have been modified or moved in some way.
Added:
- There are now specific icons for creating new documents in the
Completed\Simple\shadow only\actions\24x24
andCompleted\Simple\letter stroke gradient\actions\24x24
folders. - In addition to the standard 128x128 size icons, there are now 64x64 and 24x24 sizes of icons for the
Simple
icons, as well as smaller versions of theComplicated
icons (exact dimensions vary for the icons in theComplicated
folder). - GIMP gradients used in some of the original files have been added to the
Completed
folder. Any missing gradients are ones I didn't save.
Changed:
- All the icons in the
Simple
folder and at least one icon in theComplicated
folder have been remade as SVG files for better visual clarity. - Due to remaking all the
Simple
icons as SVG files, their gradients are slightly different. They should still look very close to the originals except Excel, which is slightly less bright green on the right edge. Some other icons may also be slightly different. - The
Simple
icons now have a nice, smooth corner in the top-right. - Icons in the
Completed\Simple\shadow only\apps
folder now have a shadow underneath the letter for depth, and the icons in theCompleted\Simple\letter stroke gradient\apps
folder have both a shadow and a gradient on the edge of the letters. These added details don't apply to the 24x24-sized icons. - The Microsoft Query icon has been remade with a better-looking curved arrow instead of copying and pasting a straight arrow into multiple spots then rotating it.
- Folders are now organized kinda like icons on Linux distros, but not perfectly the same way.
- Unused icons have been moved to
old.zip
in the repository root. - Many icons are now much smaller in filesize since they're being exported from SVG instead of a raster file, and the lossless/0 PNG compression in GIMP isn't being used.
- Updated readme to be a little clearer in a few places.
