A real time chat app made with socket io and mern stack.

Run the project locally:

Create a folder in the root directory called config and put the following files in it

• default.json
• dev.json
• test.json

they should contain a key of "DBHost" with a value of the mongodb uri.

Then create a .env file at the root directory and put the following key with whatever value you want

• SECRET_KEY

Install required stuff in server

yarn

install required stuff in client

cd client
yarn

• yarn start in root directory
• open another terminal
• cd into client
• yarn start in client
