Friendly turkeys fly over a fence, they stay at Z+1 and stop following you (can't see you?) #50715
Comments
Turkeys stay afloat for an entire day without going down. Doesn't really make sense and I will slowly loose my turkeys :( |
Do you have 3d/Z-level vision on? They should be able to see you and vice/versa if you turn it on (as well as other monsters the same way!). |
Even with 3D vision, the turkey doesn't want to go down and keeps flying. Still, it is a huge improvement for getting the birds back. But I don't know how to get the turkey down... |
Probably monster Z-level pathing problems. Have you tried climbing over the fence again to see if it follows you then? |
I haven't, but will, thx for tip. |
I did now, They didn't follow down, but I could see them since I now have 3D vision enabled. I think they fly (levitate?) for too long. I would go along a road, see turkeys in the forest and they often are flying... Real turkeys would sit down the moment they could to preserve energy. |
For the fence ones, if you can reach them by climbing, you should be able to leash them now (#50890). Currently, the "FLIES" flag is, well, binary - either a critter has it or it doesn't. Ideally, monsters that should be flying all the time would be specifically marked, and the rest would be on a structure or the ground if they didn't have a reason to fly. |
I see that I forgot to attach a save file. Sigh... |
#68255 (or some earlier PR) fixed this. Spawned a chain link fence and went over it, turkey following me. |
