This changes lots of files -- perhaps you'll find it more error-prone than it's worth, but I thought I'd give it a try; my Latin heart was bleeding :-)

The Latin plural of "status" is "statūs" (with a long 'u'), not "stati". In German the Latin plural is used; in English both the Latin plural and the English plural "statuses" are used. Since "statuses" is more common and using "status" as the plural would be confusing in the code, I changed all occurrences of "stati" to "statuses" in the code and in English messages and to "Status" in German messages. I made and checked the changes individually, so there shouldn't be any "replace all" surprises.

Nitpicker! :)
But maybe could you make this pull request into the v4.1-branch? It indeed feels like too many files touched for the simple bugfix releases that are to come from the master branch.
