Problem description

At the moment, GH states the following for Windows 2016 tests:

The windows-2016 environment is deprecated and will be removed on March 15, 2022. Migrate to windows-latest instead. For more details see actions/runner-images#4312

which means that runners need to be removed/changed by that date. Ideally, new runners using Visual Studio 2022 should replace those tests.
