TaleSpire_Cavern_Helper
You will build your layout in TaleSpire, Copy it to the clipboard, Paste it into the Cavern_Helper in Houdini and then copy the results from Houdini back to TaleSpire.
- Floorplan use the 1x1 and 2x2 Swamp Floor tiles. The ones that look like lumpy dirt.
- Entrances and Exits use the 2x2 grass tile.
Build your layout in TaleSpire using the above tiles. You don't have to concern yourself with the look of the tiles or the rotation, all the floor tiles will be replaced and optimized. You can even use just 1x1 tiles for the entire layout. The layout can change elevation but cannot pass under or over itself, you could handle this by doing multiple passes and manually stitching the results together.
In Houdini place down a TaleSpire_Cavern_Helper node in the Objects network and Copy your creation from TaleSpire.
On the node interface:
- Paste your slab into the "Slab String" field.
- Click the "Decode Slab" button.
- Once Houdini is done processing click the "Copy Slab" button.
Then simply paste the results back in TaleSpire!
The results may not be perfect, there are cases it is not designed to handle. It may just take a little cleanup.
You can add or swap out the floor tiles used in the helper, just click the "Edit Tile Objects" button on the Cavern Helper node and it will take you to a network where you can use TaleSpire_Object nodes to setup different tiles to use. You can even combine floor tiles in TaleSpire and copy them in as slabs. Just be sure the dimensions of your combined tiles adhere to the 1x1 and 2x2 limitations of the system.
