Please can you help advise.
I am getting the following errors

Downloading the .NET Runtime.
Downloading .NET version(s) 6.0.3 .......................................................................................................................... Error!
Failed to download .NET 6.0.3:
.NET installation timed out.

Error!
.NET Acquisition Failed: Installation failed: Error: .NET installation timed out.

Ive got the correct runtime version installed but this happens everytime i start visual studio code.

It looks like your connection to the download servers where .NET 6 installer is located, is blocked. Can you navigate download and install the runtime by hand? https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/6.0

yes i can get there. no issues. I have installed the runtime version manually but its made no difference

There are some possible answers in issue 2839.

Yes you have to use a vscode setting listed in the attached issue to let the extension know to use the centrally installed version, instead of downloading it just for the extension.
