Hello Vitaly,

Thanks for the patch! I'm not sure if we'll be able to merge this right away, however, I do want to make sure Alt Linux works well on Azure. Maybe we can add it to a feature branch for now or just point to your shallow fork and RPM in our documentation.

Also, we just released a new version of the agent. If you're planning on testing this new version and have any feedback please let me know.

Thanks!
Steve

Can you take a look at the new 2.0.0 agent here: https://github.com/WindowsAzure/WALinuxAgent/tree/2.0

It's now much easier to add new distribution support without adding a bunch of inline boolean logic. Take a look at the "AbstractDistro" class and how the other distributions (i.e. "redhatDistro, debianDistro, etc.) can override functions from the AbstractDistro class to properly specialize the distribution. Adding your own class there for AltLinux means that you can override specialization functions without impacting other distros (or having to test other distros to ensure they aren't impacted).

Closing this issue for now, please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!
Steve
