The mono-master branch is supposed to be a direct clone of master at all times, but with small edits allowing the software to run smoothly on mono, primarily mono on mac.
Note to developers: mono-master require all .csproj files to have their line 'ToolsVersion="XX.X"' changed to 'ToolsVersion="4.0"' or monodevelop is unable to open it.
