1.4.0 Release task list

Overview

This is not a bug report or a place to mention new issues. Please report all issues as usual.

The intention of this ticket is to identify all the items that must be done as we approach and finalize an actual release of 1.4.0. This has been an extended release cycle (since 1.3.5) and we must begin to wrap this up and get something out the door. I know we don't want to identify a release date, but a task list is certainly appropriate, I think.

Core Issues

• Finish Symfony Routing (Make controller resolving working, added example routes to ZikulaUsersModule and AcmeExampleModule #1519, Routing task list #1552) assigned: @cmfcmf
• Finish User Module review (Review the whole user registration / login process #900) assigned: @cmfcmf
• Finish conversion to Bootstrap styling (css specifically) assigned: @phaidon
• Finish conversion to jQuery/Bootstrap javascript ( System modules: Replace prototype by jquery #1214, Add tree component #1752, Context menu #1757, implement bootstrap-datetimepicker #1758, implement bootstrap-typeahead #1759) assigned: @phaidon
• Conversion of all system modules and themes to psr-4 (refs [WIP] correct ClassNotFoundException on json update #1614)
• Finalize 2.0.0-compatible module/theme structure. assigned: @Drak
• Resolve mobile theme problems (Conceptual problems with the Mobile theme #1336, Bootstrap breaks Mobile theme #1046)
• Resolve issue with inactive modules and event listeners (Upgrade problem with core.init listeners #523)
• Remove PersistentModuleHandlers (remove PersistentModuleHandlers from /system modules #1545) assigned: @craigh
• correct psr-4 dependency injection issues (DependencyInjection not working for psr-4 modules #1570)

System modules do not need to be PSR-4, they can remain just as they are.

Also for 3rd party, PSR-4 is not compulsory.

since I don't know your skill set, you'll have to look a bit yourself.

the most pressing issue in that area is converting existing JS in the system modules from prototype to jQuery: #1214
