On top of just syntax highlighting, it would be nice to have a TODO/FIXME tree as well, similar to VSCodes "Todo Tree" plugin, where you can track all the TODO's and FIXME's.

Since the original issue this one was extending has been moved to the extensions repository, should we also transfer this issue there? Alternatively, could we consolidate this into the original issue to keep all related discussions in one place?

I believe that most users interested in TODO highlighting would also find the TODO blame/tree feature valuable, so keeping these discussions together might be beneficial.
