Just a note that the upcoming CRAN version of caret has an interface to the recipes package as an alternative to the formula and matrix interfaces. An example is shown here.

You may get requests to use this interface within caretEnsemble.

Thanks for the heads up! I've got a few other maintenance things to do on caretEnsemble too. Sounds like I should prepare another CRAN release soon!

Any chance of this happening? Or can anyone suggest how to use an ensemble with a custom metric that uses additional data to compute the performance?
