[BUG]: Subscription list incomplete #4422
Comments
I've got the same issue, a good chunk of the videos are missing from Subscriptions, but show up in other sections such as History, Home or the listing for a channel, as well as on the official website. Shorts all appear to have disappeared from the Subscriptions page too. I did load the Subscriptions tab once and got an error message about date formats, but I haven't been able to make that reappear to note down the exact error, may be unrelated. I have noticed that some videos have appeared later on after initially not appearing, but the list is still very incomplete. |
Same issue here, exactly as described. Also got the error message only one time. |
I get errors loading the subsciptions several times per day. Very slow to load when it does load takes about 4-5 seconds. |
Forgot to mention that, the list is much slower to load than it was before I noticed the issue. I've also experimented with watched vs unwatched videos, but it seems to make no difference. |
I've also seent that the hide video option in the context menu is no longer is available lately when this is happening. Probably related. |
Interestingly, in beta 26.67 I almost immediately get an empty Subscriptions tab with suggestions for how to populate it, but none work (history is enabled, tried signing out and back in, etc), whilst the other sections still work as in stable 26.47. |
That is the error I saw, I have only seen it once though. Another thing I have noticed which implies the dates are related is that the videos that do show up in Subscriptions do not have relative dates or even times, it just shows the date of the video. The relative times work on other pages like Home, etc, which do show the missing videos. I've tried changing the region from the UK to the US but it made no difference. |
Yeah, there are a few bugs but I don't like to moan too much because Smart Tube has been amazing most of the time and I really appreciate the developer creating this for us for free. Imagine the alternative!!! 😨 I tried to watch YouTube on YouTube and only lasted 5 minutes before I threw my remote at the TV. |
Totally agree, just trying to narrow down this particular issue. I realised just how much i depend on SmartTube the other week trying to watch a single video in a hotel using the official app and it was nearly unwatchable, so definitely appreciate all the hard work going into the client. Done some further testing with loading videos from other tabs and managed to get the error message above again, but most times the incomplete list loads after a few seconds. |
Just got the update to 26.71 that said it was fixing this in the changelong, it is now working for me. |
Just updated the beta and looks good to me too, will test in the stable version once released too. |
Guys, if I update to the beta manually on my tv, assuming i have to load it via downloader, would it still offer me to auto update to the stable version once it's out? Its so broken now that I'm willing to try the beta, not knowing how long it will take for stable to come out. |
@jgariga it installs a separate version with its own settings and login and such, so you can safely use it alongside. When installing it should look like a new APK install and not an update to an existing app. |
Checklist
Affected version
26.47
Device Type
Smart TV/Box
Affected Android
Android TV 12
Steps to reproduce the bug
The list of videos in the subscription feed is incomplete. For example this video is not shown in the subsrciption feed: https://youtu.be/-duxgYDaXIk
The video is shown, if I select the channel in the "Channels" tab, but is not visible under "Subscriptions". The video is also visible in the subscription feed on the web page.
Actual behavior
The "Subscriptions" tab should show all videos from all subscribed channels.
