[BUG]: Getting a "Sign in Please" Message when attempting to start many videos on 25.08 today #4227
Comments
Please ensure that you are using the correct DNS servers. If you are using AdGuard, unrestricted (no family filtering) ones that work are the following: 94.140.14.14 |
Same issue, not all videos, but most. |
I'm not using Adguard, but I'm experiencing this issue. I use ExpressVPN and a pihole with no changes between "before" experiencing the issue and "after". It does however coincide with YouTube blocking me with a "please sign in" message from playing any video on any device on my network when I am not signed in (very annoying since I like to play background music while working in an incognito tab so my recommendations aren't all background music). However, Smarttube is signed in, so this issue should not occur. |
I got a video to work that didn't work an hour ago. I rebooted my device (Nvidia Shield), waited about a minute for my device to finally connect to date time servers (instead of saying it was October 18 2022?!), opened smarttube and noticed it was confused about which account I was using, and toggled accounts until I was on the correct one. Maybe my login expired or something weird? It does seem like incorrect caching of the error state though. |
Same thing on FireOS (FireTV Stick). A lot of videos with this error. Yeap, I am signed in. Playing all content without issues on the YouTube App. |
This started to affect me a few days ago, gradually affecting more videos. I restarted my firestick, loaded the app, clicked on a known problematic video, and it played fine. |
Already tried this, also reinstalling: doesn't work for me. |
