Retroarch Aroma build - no control and weird symptoms #99

Aroma beta 24 just installed on a fresh, never modded Wii U system. Retroarch works fine.

On my personal Wii U (which has had CBHC, mocha, tiramisu, and now lastly aroma) retroarch crashes. I've used two different SD cards - one of which verified works fine on the freshly modified Wii U.

When I launch retroarch I get to the main menu however I have no controls. No matter how many controllers are synced up, I cannot do anything in retroarch. If I power off the gamepad, retroarch shows is disconnected player 1 as gamepad. Now i can control retroarch with either a pro controller or by turning the gamepad back on.

Once I select ANY option to proceed: restart retroarch, exit, load a core, load content, I get a hard power off of the console. This is repeatable.

Is there a log that aroma keeps to help me decipher what may cause this? All other homebrew has worked fine and to my surprise it worked on the freshly modded Wii U. I told my friend it wasn't going to work out but it totally works fine.

i am running from isfshax with the fw_fastboot option, chainloading into payload-loader via health and safety and then aroma beta 24. I even deleted everything retroarch and aroma related, re-added the SAME files i used on the newly modded wii u and still same issues persist. no change in symptoms.
