I would like to clean up entries older than n days. A cleanup option $vacuum_time='35d' which results in a daily cron entry
journalctl --vacuum-time=35d
would be fine. One could consider --vacuum-size and --vacuum-files, too.

MaxFileSec=1d MaxRetentionSec=35d
is the solution
