For SLES:

Do: Get PID file from /var/run, not /run.

Repo: Zypper
However the current zypper shipped with Puppet from version 4.3.0 through 4.6.2 runs a deprecated zypper, it uses a deprecated call to "newtype".

I've seen the current params file, it can do the following to achieve this.

if rhel6/7/centos6/7, run folder is /run/icinga2
unless $rundir; $rundir = /var/run/icinga2
// This includesSLES 12, as its /var/run/icinga2, same as sles11.

Sles is lsb compliant, rhel5 is. centos6/7 and rhel6/7 is not.
OracleLinux seems to be.
