Allow Specific Tools to Suppress Follow-Up Messages While Using streamText with maxSteps > 1

Currently, when maxStep is set to more than one in stremText, the llm will return a follow up message after a tool is called. If I set the maxStep to one, than the llm will only return the tool result. How to only return the tool result and not return a follow up message for certain tools while keeping maxStep more than one? I tried to see I can use onStepFinish but doesn't seem to work.
