If someone is willing to contribute a TypeScript rewrite, is there a chance of it being accepted?

I don't think so. Please check #789 and see how we can make this better.

i think, the main reason to still use js here instead of ts, is to be able to use it in vanilla js projects / frameworks. However, serving its own .d.ts (typings) would certainly be a good idea.

What do you think?
