• ion-content/ion-view has a attribute 'scroll' which you can enable / disable to false (dont think this is too useful)

I advise breaking this bug-fix into two steps

[ ] Fix #1: Code is janky & could more elegant, but is seamless to the end user (it works, but could be better)
[ ] Fix #2: Research and learn how to make it elegant later

When you try to do both at once without having significant background working on things (or you're just new to them) - it takes way longer than expected (in my former experiences with Ionic). Focus on #1 and then push, once it's done - i'm happy to allot time to get things done right after, but at least end-users don't have to wait longer since #2 doesn't impact them
