Issues in non-responsive example layout

Typography is responsive (play with desktop browser window size)
The container is responsive (chrome/nexus4)

I would like to add to this that the recommendation to use .col-xs-* for the grid in non-responsive may not be the best choice. I discovered that xs has no "offset" options. Using .col-sm-* seems to work better.

Another glitch is that navbar grows by 1px below 768px

...and...

the dropdown is "responsive"

I suppose that obtaining a fixed layout is not that easy
