Seemingly randomly, some video files are corrupted #672

Let me know what I can provide to help |
are you familiar with downloading files from mega by chance? |
The Same problem I hope @tonikelope can fix it. |
@zakimimit this is resolved for me now - is it fixed for you? |
No, still the same problem |
I've also been experiencing a few corrupt downloads for .rar and .7z files when using Megabasterd. Usually happens with large, 5+ GB files. Never had it happen with smaller files. All my corrupt downloads show "length" in Windows Explorer by the way, and seems to be the correct (expected) length. I'm downloading to a Samsung SSD that's in perfect health according to SMART attributes and never presented any issues. chkdsk also can't detect any errors in the filesystem. My system is rock solid stable overall. My proxy timeout was already set to "2" before I noticed this issue, so I'm not sure this helps. Now I have turned on "verify file integrity" and turned off "Reset slot proxy after successfully downloading a chunk" as OP suggests, let's see if these help in fixing the problem. |
This appears to have happened more recently.
Very hard to replicate but have had videos become corrupted when downloading. I thought it would potentailly be an issue with my my HDD's however they are fine/healthy and saw on another private forum that other Megabasted users have had a similar issue lately so wanted to raise this officially here.
Unsure whether it's the chunks being chunked or an issue with the download themselves. Has occured for 2gb and 5gb+ files. Have since turned on "verify" option, and will monitor if this keeps happening. This must have been happening for a few months, been very hard to check with all my files (1tb+), haven't found a scalable script to go through and check, been using a combination of ffprobe and mkvalidator.
Have read on another forum that "changed was "Proxy timeout (seconds)" from the default of 5, to 2. The second setting I changed was "Reset slot proxy after successfully downloading a chunk" from the default of ON, to OFF." helped.
Have implemented that also now.
An easy check for SOME corrupted files is that they do not show "Length" attribute in explorer. However others show length and still have corruption/missing segments of the video.
Sorry this issue isn't better worded. This never used to happen to us with Megabasterd.
