To simplify lambdas, clarify/unify controls vs pattern methods, alignments and so on.

There's a lot of discussion spread across a lot of issues, e.g.:

I propose we close most or all of them and continue discussion here.

There's also a couple of PRs open:

Try to solve method composition with proxy objects #1240
Revert "Revert "Another attempt at composable functions - WIP (#390)"" #486 - this can probably be closed at this point..
