Castle of the Winds has a feature where you press a button, and the game does a series of Wait actions until either your HP is fully recovered or something else interesting happens, like a monster comes into your direct line of sight. Swarkland would need special programming for several unusual cases, like if you try to rest while you are poisoned or cogniscopic, but I think it would be worth it.

We could also use this "rest" concept to automatically wait for slow movement to recharge when there are no interesting things around.
