As I have a custom solution with a 3D printed case where I mount the PCB close to the outer wall I want the USB port directly available for powering the device. As of now the PCB has the resistors directly over the USB port covering it be some 7.3 mm. That makes it hard to reach the port from outisde,

My suggestion if you would consider a revision of the board is to move the resistors to the opposite end of the PCB. If possible make the end of the PCB board be flush with the ESP32 devkit PCB. That would make the PCB useful for these types of customizations and make it easy to reach the USB port from outside the casing.

And, as a possible extras. I don't know if there is room, but you might consider a little extra space with some holes in a "prototype" area where one can put some extra components and hook it up as needed. For instance I need to put an extra resistor in there for a "power on" LED to my casing. I will do that now as a mod and directly solder on the bare pins, but if there was a "tweak" section that would be much nicer looking.

Just one extra (empty) resistor position already routed to PWR and GND and two empty holes where to solder the wires for the POWER ON LED would probably be enough though! If you decide to update the PCB design, adding these empty holes for a resistor and LED would not be too much of a hassle I think. :)

EDIT: I actually solved my issue with some extra POWER ON LEDs by hijacking the J1 connector which already is connected to +5V and GND (if USB is attached). Worked great for my usage scenario.
