Revolving hearts Hi! I'm Hazel, a trans(she/her!) webdev living just outside of Chicago trying to make apps that make the internet a cosier place!

What I create

I maintain multiple projects as the lead of my organisation besties.

git.gay

pages.gay

yellowcab

violet

wandering-eye

 more in progress :)

In particular, my focuses are in maintaining git.gay which is an instance of Forgejo with a pretty theme and some tiny custom improvements, along with its companion service pages.gay which is a static site host comparable to GitHub Pages that I wrote myself.

Besides the projects I've made under my org, I sometimes make projects myself, including librespot-js, a library for scraping Spotify for track/playlist/album metadata with just a premium login. I'm constantly working to improve these projects and to create more projects in the background!

How you can help

Server costs can get expensive, and finding motivation to work on my projects can be difficult when it's funded entirely out of pocket. Everything I make is FOSS, allowing anyone to contribute and self-host, but this makes monetising my projects difficult. Sponsorships help me a ton to be able to afford to keep making things free for the public!

You’re an advocate for a cosier web.

A web where you can still find thriving communities on platforms without invasive user tracking, advertising, or arbitrary paywalls. You want to help fund this little corner of the internet so that it can continue operating in the interests of users, not for some massive unethical corporation’s profits. And you want this corner of the web to be for the gays.
