Me and my goal
I'm Kennedy Richard Silva Guerra (he/him/cis), 34, from Recife, Brazil. Nice to meet you!
I have a simple goal with my open-source projects:
To promote and provide fun, learning and value by publishing and maintaining open-source apps, games and content.
To help me achieve this goal, I created the Indie Python project, where I publish and maintain repositories for all my open-source projects.
Work
The flagship of the project is the Nodezator app:
Dedicated to the public domain, it is a multi-purpose visual node editor for the Python programming language, that allows Python callables to be turned into graphical nodes automatically and the node layouts to be exported back as Python code.
This year I also plan to add a few stages to the Bionic Blue game. A free public domain game which is at an early stage of development, but can already be played as a prototype. Development for it is paused temporarily due to my work on the Nodezator project, but it is expected to be resumed soon this January.
Plans for 2025 and the next few years
Beginning in 2025, for the Indie Python project we'll...
- create and publish a new software project: a new app maker application inspired by HyperCard, with modern looks and design
- create different versions of Nodezator for different platforms or different purposes:
- a standalone app like Nodezator but for the Qt framework using PySide
- a embeddable version of Nodezator that can be included in any pygame-ce app
- a embeddable version of Nodezator that can be included in any PyQt/PySide app
- changes in Nodezator (type safety, new data model and more)
- finish and publish the Bionic Blue game
- finish and release the first level, including a boss battle at the very beginning of 2025
You can read more about these plans on this post.
The importance of your sponsorship
Your sponsorship is crucial to my work, since it allows me to allocate more and more of my time to the Indie Python project, and, in the future, provide better structure for the project and more people to work on it.
You can also donate via other methods of your choice.
Join the community
Regardless of becoming a sponsor or not, everyone is welcome in our community. Join us in our discord server or post on the discussion tab of the project's repositories or on the discussion tab of the Indie Python project itself, if it is something related to the whole project, rather than one of its child projects.
