Hey there! Alex from the HackPNW team here. 👋

What is HackPNW do you ask? Well there's no correct way to say it's full name, but it sorta goes like "Hack the Pacific Northwest". Now we don't mean the scary type of hacking, we mean a group of people coming together to "hack" at an issue, or create projects.

We previously hosted a hackathon (social coding event) at Microsoft's Campus in Redmond at their Reactor building in February. We ended up having 110+ high-school programmers from around Washington state gather to team up and accomplish a goal to win prizes. We are proud to say that we believe this to be the biggest high-school hackathon in Washington state!

We are a team of high-schoolers who are hoping to advance the high-school technology community in the Washington area. We are a fiscally sponsored non-profit by The Hack Foundation.

We are currently working on our next event, which we plan on hosting this summer. The event will be a hackathon for an estimated ~300 high-school attendees in Seattle from around the region. We gauged this number from the amount of high-schoolers who signed up for our waitlist for our last event, as the maximum capacity for our venue was around 120.

Any potential sponsorship or donations are greatly appreciated, and are also tax-deductible. Our organization depends on grants, scholarships, and sponsorships from companies and/or individuals to help us serve the high-schoolers in our region. We commit ourselves to using our funds fully for ensuring we produce the best event possible. Here's a list of potential uses:

• Catering services to provide free food for attendees.
• Prizes and incentives to make the event fun and keep the attendees engaged and learning.
• Covering expenses of miscellaneous things as needed, such as supplies, merch, etc.
• Ensures we can get a venue that has a capacity to make sure we can serve more high-schoolers across the region.
• Spaces so our team (from different areas of Washington) can meet on an occasional schedule to plan & create things for our events.
